David Turgeon, Graduate Jeweler, has a retail career that spans almost thirty years. Opening his first business in 1979 as a means of putting himself through college, his varied experience has exposed him to the challenges of being an independent retail business owner, manager in a national chain, and a supplier. After graduating with degrees in English Literature and Business Administration, David joined Henry Birks & Sons Jewellers in Montreal, Canada. His association with Birks lasted almost a decade during which he served as Assistant Watch Buyer, National Prestige Jewellery Buyer and National Brand Marketing Manager.
In 1992, David left Birks to found Treasure Group International, the company responsible for producing the now legendary "Mel Fisher's Treasures of the Atocha" Exhibition & Sale that visited over 400 retail jewelers throughout the United States & Canada. A Retail Business & Strategic Planning Consultant since 1996, David has distinguished himself as a skilled organizational assessment and facilitation professional with clients in the jewelry, entertainment & tourism industries. As an Operations Consultant for Performance Concepts, his work with retail jewelers takes an integrated approach that focuses on strategic reviews and planning in the areas of marketing, finance, merchandising, inventory and asset management, personnel, and general operations.
